Travelling Around Phnom Penh

If you enjoy rides at the Royal Show, you would love travelling by tuk tuk around Phnom Penh!

A tuk tuk is a modern version of the "horse and carriage" except you replace the horse with a motor bike!
You would think that to keep everyone safe in vehicles like this, Cambodia would have strict traffic rules and regulations. Apparently not...
What we find amazing about the tuk tuks is that drivers will let other drivers merge, cut in front of them, change lanes, forget to use their indicators, drive on the wrong side of the road and honk their horns.  They all work together so that everyone gets to where they are going.

Even Ralph had to cover his eyes!
Transport is also very interesting.
How do you move a fragile load of eggs?  On the back of a motor-bike of course!

I like this guys approach...
"Forget the ute!  I'll just carry my ladder on the back of my mates motor bike!"  Love it!

Team Reflections: "What stood out for me..."

Annette: Our ride from the airport to the hotel was unreal! The traffic is crazy and the amount of people and stuff that they put on the motorbikes is amazing!

Patricia: The traffic was amazing, so chaotic and heavy, so many motor bikes, bikes and cars and 4 wheel drive vehicles all crushed in together.  It is just amazing that there were no crashes!

Daniel: On the way out of the airport, on the tuk tuk the traffic was CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and so was Ryan) But the ride was fun!

Ryan: We got to Cambodia airport and I feel awesome and then I saw the traffic… IT IS BONKERS!!!!!!!!!
