Two Sides of the River

We crossed the Mekong River by ferry to visit a school/church amongst the slums in a rural district.

On the city-side of the river, there were nice, big buildings and new multi-storey developments being built.

But on the other side of the river, it was a different story.

Houses on the edge of the river.

The foreshore littered with rubbish.

Power lines to the homes only centimetres away from the water.
